Terra Verde: An endless summer of Italian countryside emerges in a Bengaluru home designed by Vedanth Design Studio

The space strikes a perfect harmony between earthy tones and natural elements, with open layouts, calming muted colours and abundant natural light. Picture an al fresco dining space by a cool blue pool that makes it impossible not to linger, glass in hand, as the breeze brushes past. 

Florals, foyer and first Impressions

As you step into the foyer the first thing demanding your attention are the beautiful hand-painted florals by Cloth & Canvas Story and the statement bench from Phantom Hands. Balancing vibrant colours with an organic touch. 

In the living room textures take centrestage. The soft weave of rattan adds warmth and simplicity, creating a sense of pattern and depth to the space without drawing all the attention. Jaipur Rugs, in its gentle hues of green, brings a touch of outdoors in like a meadow brushed softly onto the floor. The rattan Tangali Chairs, speak of old-world artistry elegantly seated basking in the glow of a floor lamp from Phantom Hands, above the chairs the wall art from Morii Design adds a thoughtful pause. By this is a Tianu Furniture sofa, draped in a creamy beige linen, that feels as inviting as freshly churned butter paired with soft cushions and airy drapes. Greenery spills in the background, adding a refreshing touch to the space, bringing it to life.

Next is the dining area, which is laid back as it is elegant, its natural openness inviting the outdoors to linger within. The teak dining table with rosewood detail exudes a warmth that feels both timeless and unassuming. Near the table, a mid-century modern console blends practicality with a quiet charm. A custom-made sideboard crafted out of tribal antique pane adds a touch of history and character to the space.

“Our favourite corner in the house would be the study. The relaxed nature of this space balances functionality and tranquillity. This room is characterised by a harmonious palette of earthy hues and natural materials, designed to create a calming and relaxed vibe,” shares Nehal Shanghavi, founder and principal designer of Vedanth Design Studio. The earthy tones and natural materials create a soothing background. 

This quaint, organic and minimalist home feels as indulgent as it looks, offering the warmth of nature with all the ease and elegance of Italian living — a true terra verde dream.
